The Final Flavors of Summer at Weckerly’s

We’re nearing the end of summer flavor season at Weckerly’s, but we’re not quite ready for fall yet. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be making the most of late summer fruit and bringing a few new scratch-made flavors into the dipping cabinets at our Rittenhouse and Fishtown shops.

Here are a few seasonal scoops to look for in Philadelphia before the menu transitions.

Double scoop of blueberry and peach jam swirled with cornbread crumbs

Blueberry Peach Cornbread

Sweet cream ice cream with swirls of bright, tangy jams made in-house from real blueberries and peaches, studded with a buttery, house-baked cornbread crumble. It brings together some of our favorite flavors of late summer in one scoop.

White Chocolate Passion Fruit

Caramelized white chocolate seasoned sweet cream swirled with passion fruit jelly. The richness of the caramelized white chocolate is balanced by bright, tart passion fruit for a flavor that feels indulgent without being overly sweet.

Basque Style Cheesecake with Fig

Inspired by the deeply caramelized exterior of Basque cheesecake, we make this flavor with both cream cheese and goat cheese and season it with lemon zest instead of vanilla. We finish it with a house-made fig jam using Adriatic and Black Mission figs.

Blackberry Dark Chocolate Stracciatella

Blackberry and dark chocolate are a classic pair. We roast real summer blackberries in-house to make a rich, tart blackberry ice cream, then pair it with dark chocolate stracciatella for a scoop that balances rich chocolate with bright fruit.

Roasted Strawberry

For Roasted Strawberry, we keep things simple. Slow-roasting fresh strawberries in-house concentrates their flavor and brings out their natural sweetness before we churn them into our ice cream base
